RAIDERS PLACE FIVE ON THE ALL-PATRIOT LEAGUE TEAM Feb. 22, 2001 CENTER VALLEY, PA - Junior Tyrone Russell (Ithaca, N.Y.) led five Raiders named to the 2002 all-Patriot League team. Duevorn Harris (Newark, Del.), Eric Hiller (Elizabethtown, Pa.), Sean Lingley (Sudlbury, Mass.) and Mike Saunders (Albion, N.Y.) rounded out Colgate's all-league performers. The Indoor Track and Field All-league teams are chosen based upon the student-athletes performance at the 2002 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships. The winners and runners-up of each event earn All-League status. Russell, with his first place finishes in the 200 meter (22.02) ad 400 meter (49.24) dashes and as a part of the winning 4x400 team, also earned the Men's Track Athlete of the Meet as well as keying the Raiders fourth-place finish. Russell is the fifth CU performer to capture Athlete of the Meet honors. Harris earned all-league status for his record setting performance in the weight throw. Harris threw a 60' 10", the first Colgate athlete to throw over 60'. Hiller and Lingley earned their all-league status for their part in the first place 4x400 relay team. Saunders, who was also a part of the 4x400 relay team, also took home second place finish in the 1,000 and all-league honors. |
