Went 4-4 in singles and 3-2 in doubles
during the fall season ... had wins over K. Ming-Lee of Manhattan,
Alex Abji of Niagara, Matt Rales of Middlebury and Hans Sapra of
Boston UNiversity ... defeated Brad Nelson/Ryan Lloyd of Lehigh at
the first Cornell Invitational with partner Marshall Wheeler ...
defeated Matt Schor/Robert Sfonzo 8-6 and Peter Kung/Bryant Yung of
Cornell 8-5 with partner Matthew McCormic at the second Cornell
Invitational.
Freshman Year (2004-05):
Deck stepped
into match play early in his Colgate career, posting a 2-4 record in
singles playing at No. 6 and No. 7 ... Deck advanced to the semifinals of the
No. 9 singles flight at the Northeast Invitational, winning his
quarterfinal match in a third set tiebreaker over Bucknell’s Brian
Cohen ... Deck also partnered with Chris Innes for a 3-4 record
competing at No. 3 doubles, picking up wins over Buffalo, Niagara, and Hofstra.
High School:
Deck finished a
junior career ranked in the top 100 of one of the USTA’s toughest
sections, Southern California ... he lettered all four years at Newport
Harbor High School and was a two-time team MVP ... he led Newport
Harbor to the CIF playoffs for the first time in 13 years ... he
completed his high school career with a 68-16 overall record in
singles and a 54-16 record in doubles.
