MANLIUS, NY – The Colgate men's tennis team registered a most impressive victory on Saturday, defeating the Bonnies 5-2. 

Jon Bedard and Blake Willmarth led the way for Colgate, each winning their singles match before teaming up to post a doubles victory. Bedard, playing No.5 singles, was a 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 winner over Adam Price.  Willmarth won his No.6 singles match 6-0, 6-4 over Sajeel Qureshi.  The pairing prevailed over Price and Qureshi in their No.3 doubles encounter, winning 8-3.

Also winning his singles match was Eric Saccullo, a 6-3, 6-3 victor in No.2 singles, beating Mikko Houlos.  Jake Heims and Evan Ambrose also won their singles matches.  Heims won his No.3 singles match by defeating Vili Nurmi 7-6, 6-4.  Ambrose emerged a 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 victor in his No.4 singles encounter with Nikhil Murali

The result improves the Raiders' record to 4-1 on the season.  It was their third consecutive victory.

Colgate will next take on rivals Cornell, next Friday, Feb. 21st in Ithaca.  The matches are scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
