Raiders End Spring By Beating Lehigh
Hamilton, NY. - The men's tennis team finished off its regular season by defeating Patriot League opponent Lehigh 6-1. Colgate finishes at 4-1 in the Patriot League (10-7 overall) as it prepares to travel to American University for the Patriot League Tournament. Colgate earned an early lead by emerging victorious in all three doubles matches. The one-two punch of Reed Hagmann and Eric Saccullo overwhelmed the Mountain Hawks Ty Esler and Ryan Cann 8-3. Meanwhile the duo of Jon Bedard and Zander Lowe downed Lehigh's Craig Ditman and Trey Fuller 8-2. In singles action, freshman Reed Hagmann improved his stunning record to 18-10 on the year by trouncing Ty Esler 6-1, 6-1. Eric Saccullo also earned a win with his swift footwork by defeating Cann 6-4, 6-3. Evan Ambrose and Zander Lowe won at the fourth and fifth spots respectively. Colgate returns to action Saturday, April 20th in the Patriot League Tournament at American. The Raiders, winners against Patriot League stalwarts Army and Navy, hope to continue to surprise the league in this weekend's upcoming competition. Singles: 1. Reed Hagmann (CU) def.
