American Defeats Colgate 6-1 February 24, 2002 Hamilton, NY. The men's tennis team fell 6-1 to a very solid American squad on Sunday. The loss is Colgate's first Patriot League blemish of the spring season (5-4 overall). Despite the loss, sophomore Eric Saccullo had his best match of the season, winning both his doubles and singles matches. At first doubles, he teamed up with captain Evan Paushter to hound the Eagles Jonah Fliegelman and Guillaume Taralle 8-3. Saccullo then pummeled American's Tushar Garg 6-1, 6-2 in number three singles. Saccullo improves to 14-10 in singles competition on the season. Overall, the team gave in a solid performance and will look to rebound in preparation for the Patriot League Tournament in April. Meanwhile, the team faces another tough opponent March 2 at 9:00am. as it travels to Dartmouth. Singles Doubles Colgate (5-4)
