MIDSHIPMEN DOWN RED RAIDERS

Annapolis, MD. - (4/7) - The Red Raiders struggled to hold the lead in many of their matches with Patriot League rival Navy on Saturday.  The Naval Academy was able to rally in a a number of matches to triumph 7-0.  However, the matches were much closer than the score suggests.

The two teams split victories at No's. 1 and 3 doubles, but Navy won the doubles point thanks to a late rally at No. 2 doubles from Cameron Lickle and Chris McGrath.  The Navy duo held a 6-3 lead over Andrew Davis and Jon Bedard, but Colgate stormed back, winning the next four games to take a 7-6 lead.  Lickle and McGrath then won the next three games to win the match, 9-7.

In singles action, Colgate gave a valiant effort against the solid Midshipmen squad.  Most of the matches went into tiebreaks or a third set reinforcing the Red Raider's unwillingness to surrender.

The Red Raiders fall to 5-10 on the season and 2-2 in Patriot League play.  The Red Raiders final match of the season is April 18th, at Binghamton.
