MEN'S TENNIS DROPS MATCHES
TO STRONG OPPOSITION IN FLORIDA SPRING BREAK

tough competition preps for upcoming Patriot League season

(3/15) - The Colgate men's tennis squad has lost its last five
matches including three losses in its spring break trip to
Florida, however the Red Raiders have fallen to some of the
top teams in the region and country.
Before the break, Colgate fell to strong Ivy League foes
Cornell and Dartmouth. Over spring break, the Red
Raiders ran into a strong Florida Atlantic University squad,
falling 6-1. Andrew Davis captured the lone Colgate win
against FAU downing Christian Paiz who retired from the
match.
The Red Raiders lost to No. 13 Lynn University, by the same score. Eric Saccullo, at
number one singles, forced his match to go into the third
set. Josh Cohn forced his opponent to retire after the
second set.
Colgate completed the trip falling to No. 9 Barry University 5-2. Captain
Evan Paushter and Eric Saccullo picked up solid
victories. The squad's spring record fell to
3-8. Colgate,
now 3-8 on the year open Patriot Leauge play this Saturday against
Lafayette at 4 p.m.
