COLGATE MEN IN SIXTH AFTER DAY ONE OF THE
PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Results LEWISBURG, PA - The Colgate men's swim team snapped three school records in day one of competition at the Patriot League championships at Bucknell University. The men are currently in 6th place with 109 points. Host Bucknell leads with 218 points. The team of James Hadley, Greg Jachno, Tom Noel and Matt Vuturo set a school record in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.69. The team took home 6th place honors in the event. Hadley set a new record in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 20.89, good for 4th place points. Hadley teamed again with Vuturo, Jachno and Mike Schierhold for a record-breaking performance in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:26.07 which was good for fifth place. Rich Derrick too home sixth place honors in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:39.72, just three-hundredths of a second of the record pace. Brett Nichols was a 12th place finisher in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 1:56.74. Lane Ellis was the last competitor for Colgate, he came home second in the 3 meter dive with a score of 433.00. The men's squad is back in action tomorrow morning for day two of competition at Bucknell University.
