Annapolis, Md. - The Colgate men's and women's swimming and diving team's wrapped up their season in this weekend's Patriot League Championships.  Both teams finished in fifth place, with the men's team netting 392 total points and the women totaling 372.  The women's team climbed one spot in the standings on Saturday, overtaking Army in the evening's final session.

First-year diver Lane Ellis helped the team's cause with his victory in the 1 meter diving competition.  He won the competition with a total of 287.35 points.  Also performing well for the Raiders was junior James Hadley, who finished second in the 200 yard butterfly.  He was only 0.04 seconds away from winning the race, his time of 1:51.96 only slightly slower than that of the eventual winner from Army.  First year Rick Derrick proved his endurance in the 1650 yard freestyle, his time of 16:18.15 worthy of a second place finish.

On the women's side, first-year Jenn Busby impressed with her strong showing in the 3 meter dive contest.  She finished in third place, scoring a total of 442.35 points.  The Raider women's 400 yard freestyle relay team also earned a spot on the proverbial podium, placing third in their race.  The team was comprised of first-year Meghan Binder, junior Meredith Erickson, sophomore Alice Garnett, and anchor  Elizabeth Gaffuri, herself a junior.  They finished with a time of 3:33.15.

This marks the completion of the 2001-2002 season for the Raiders.
