Bethlehem, Pa. - The Colgate University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were both picked to finish fifth in the Patriot League this year in a vote by league coaches and sports information directors.

The Army men's team and the Lehigh women's team took top honors in this year's poll, with 50 points and 67 points respectively. The Lehigh men took second (41), followed by Bucknell (35), Lafayette (22), Colgate (21) and Holy Cross (11). The Navy and Army women tied for second with 59 points each followed by Bucknell (40), Colgate (35), Lafayette (22), and Holy Cross (12).

New head coach Bill Roberts has taken over the Red Raider swimming program and is eager to move his teams up in the Patriot League standings. Head diving coach Matt Leone returns for his 20th season to guide a small, yet strong and solid squad.

"I am excited at the strong core of athletes we have returning and our talented newcomers, who should lead us into unchartered waters," Roberts said.

Colgate will travel to Holy Cross in its season opener on Saturday, Oct. 28.
