HAMILTON, N.Y. -  Coming off a big win against 12th ranked Saint Bonaventure, the Colgate University men's soccer team suffered a let-down Tuesday night as it dropped a 2-0 decision to Syracuse at Van Doren Field dropping its record to 1-1-1.

Syracuse scored both goals in the first half within 15 minutes of each other.  At the 11:47 mark Jarrett Park netted his third goal of the season on a breakaway.  He was assisted by Ryan Hickey, giving the Orangemen a 1-0 lead.

Syracuse added to that lead with a controversial goal in the 26th minute.  The linesman held up his flag signaling offside, Syracuse proceeded to score a goal and the official waved the offside despite the linesman still having his flag up.

Kirk Johnson netted the goal on a cross from Guido Cristofori.

Colgate outshot Syracuse 21-17 and outcornered them 10-1.

Alim Karim made 12 saves in net while recording a shutout.  Will Martin (Excelsior, MN/Breck) recorded eight saves and dropped his record to 1-1.

Colgate is in action this weekend when they host the Raider Classic.  The Raiders play Maine at 7 p.m., while the early game features Rider versus Duquesne.
