Hamilton, NY -
Colgate University's Colyer Curtis made the most of a Mark Biron cross, blasting in a one-time shot to the upper left corner of the net in the 79th minute to lift the Raider men's soccer team past Bucknell University 2-1 Saturday night at Van Doren Field.

With Colgate up 1-0 for almost the entire first half and much of the second half following Zach Stuppy's near post goal off of a lofted ball from Tim Gerges in the sixth minute, Bucknell's  Chris Berkman knotted the game up at 1-1 in the 73rd minute, putting Andrew Aurand's cross in the back of the net, volleying the pass out of the air.

The Raiders are now 2-4 and 1-0 in the Patriot League, while Bucknell dips to 1-4 and 0-1 in the League.  Colgate's Jon Brunell earned the win for the Raiders making two saves in 90 minutes.  Bucknell keeper Steve Whitaker had four saves for the Bison.

The last 11 minutes of play were full of chances for both teams, including a Bucknell direct kick from six yards out with five minutes remaining.  Colgate's Brunell called for his defense to line up behind him on the goal line and Bucknell's Nick Taylor drilled a shot only to be blocked by Colgate's line of defense.

Colgate will return to action Saturday, September 22 when they travel to Lehigh for a 2 p.m. Patriot League contest.
