ST. BONAVENTURE, NY - St. Bonaventure University used four goals from four different players to shut out Colgate University 4-0 Wednesday night. The Bonnies, who improve to 3-1-0, took a 3-0 lead before halftime and never looked back as St. Bonaventure out shot Colgate 17-10. The Bonnies held a 13-3 shot advantage in the first half. The Bonnies’ Said Ali assisted on both the first and final goals, setting up teammates Joe Baiata for St. Bonaventure’s first goal in the 15th minute and Anthony Battaglia’s goal in the 81st minute for the final tally. Nick Blair and Justin Ross had the other two goals for the Bonnies’. Blair scored in the 22nd minute off of an Ali Marshedi assist, while Battaglia fed Ross in the 37th minute for the Bonnies third goal of the first half. Colgate’s Will Martin and Jon Brunell split the goaltending duties equally, each playing 45 minutes, for the Raiders, now 1-4. Martin, who started the game, made 5 saves on 13 first half shots. Their St. Bonaventure counterparts, Tim Landry and Mike Krupka also split their keeping duties combining for four saves. The Raiders will host Patriot League opponent Bucknell University, Saturday, September 22 at 7 p.m. on Van Doren Field.
