Hamilton, N.Y. - The Colgate Raiders dropped a 3-2 overtime contest and their second straight game, losing to Roberts Wesleyan College, Wednesday night at Van Doren Field.

Roberts Wesleyan captain Roger Groome, gave the visiting Raiders the overtime victory in the 92nd minute of play, when he deflected the ball out of the air past Colgate keeper Will Martin.  Midfielder Steve Christenson was credited with an assist on the play.

Colgate (3-7) and Roberts Wesleyan (12-2) played an even opening 90 minutes.  Colgate sweeper Marc Hubbard opened the scoring when he headed in his first of two goals on the evening in the 17 minute of play to give Colgate the early 1-0 lead.  Co-Captain Tim Gerges connected with Kit Edwards on a direct kick, who then headed the ball directly to Hubbard for the score.

Roberts Wesleyan would notch the next two marks to take a 2-1 lead.  Three minutes after Hubbard's goal, midfielder Nersal Mujezinovic scored his ninth goal of the season when he scored off a pass from Hamlet Diaz to tie the game at 1-1.  Defenseman Stan Marcello gave the visiting Raiders their first lead of the game when he deflected a shot inside the goalie box from VJ Kose past Colgate's Martin.

In the 42nd minute, Hubbard scored the equalizer on his second goal of the game, again on a header, when he took Sean Nevison's direct kick out of the air and placed it behind Roberts Wesleyan keeper Paul Cavicchia.  Hubbard's two goals were his first of the season.

Cavicchia had six saves on the night rendering two goals, while Martin also had six saves but allowed three goals.

Colgate continues its Patriot League slate Saturday, October 13 at 2 p.m. versus Navy at Van Doren Field.
