Five Raiders Earn Patriot League

Hamilton, N.Y. - Five members of the Colgate University men's soccer team earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester. A total of 58 student-athletes were named to the 2001 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll announced Thursday by Carolyn Schlie Femovich, Patriot League Executive Director. To be eligible, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
Colgate senior Coyler Curtis (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School), co-captain of the 2001 squad, junior Marc Hubbard (Durham, NH/Oyster River), sophomore goalkeeper Will Martin (Excelsior, Minn./Breck) and freshmen Peter Bourquin (Avon, Conn./Avon) and Reed Grimes (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) were among the 58 chosen to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Curtis, a four-year letterwinner for Colgate, earned a 3.58 gpa majoring in Economics. Martin, who started in 10 games for the Raiders at keeper logging 910 minutes and ending the season with four shutouts and a 70.2 save percentage, attained a 3.83 gpa during the fall. Bourquin, the Raiders' third leading scorer with two goals and four assists for eight points, earned a 3.58 gpa in his Economics major while Reed Grimes, who distinguished himself defensively this season starting 16 of 18 games netting one goal and passing off two assists from his back position, achieved a 3.5 gpa in Biology.
