Hubbard and Cook Receive Patriot League

Hamilton, N.Y. - Colgate's Marc Hubbard (Durham, N.H./Oyster River) and Jonathan Cook (Oneonta, N.Y./Laurens Central) members of the Raider men's soccer team have earned Patriot League Player of the Week honors for the week of October 29-November 4.
Hubbard, a 2000 second team all-Patriot League selection, earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for his play in games against Sacred Heart and Army. Hubbard was involved in both game-winning goals for Colgate in a 2-0 week, including a 1-0 shutout victory over League opponent Army. Hubbard assisted on the Raider's game-winner in a 2-1 win against Sacred Heart and headed in the decisive goal against Army. The goal was Hubbard's fourth of the season, all of which have been scored on headers. With four goals and two assists on the season, Hubbard is the Raiders' second leading scorer with 10 points.
Cook, a freshman forward for Colgate, earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors for knocking in the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Sacred Heart. It was Cook's second game-winner of the season, with the first coming on a 1-0 victory over Philadelphia. Cook now has four goals and three assists in 2001 and is the Raiders' leading scorer with 11 points. He has played in all 17 of Colgate's games making 10 starts, including the last six games in a row.
Colgate will play its final to games of the season on the road, traveling to Washington, D.C. to take on League opponent American, Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m. and then to Binghamton, N.Y. for a 2 p.m. match-up against Binghamton University Wednesday, November 14. |
