NAVY NARROWLY ESCAPES WITH 2-1 VICTORY AGAINST COLGATE

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Naval Academy scored the game-winning goal with 43 seconds remaining in the game to escape with a 2-1 victory against Colgate University in the first Patriot League contests for both Wednesday night.

Michael Paisant recorded the game-winner at 89:17 on a feed from Dan Neverosky and Jake Roberts.  Paisant scored on a header past the goalie from 10 yards out.

Conor Harrison gave Colgate a 1-0 lead early in the second half with a marker at the 49:06 mark off a feed from Nick Smith.  Harrison's goal was on a header to the right corner from four yards out.

Navy outshot Colgate 13-10, while Colgate held the advantage in corner kicks 6-5.

Colgate had its full squad after playing the first two games shorthanded this season in the Rider Tournament.

Navy tied the game at 81:40 with Brye Gerhardt's marker off a rebound on feeds Dan Neverosky and Dan Montgomery.
