COLGATE SNAPS 15-YEAR LOSING STREAK AGAINST HARTWICK WITH A 1-0 VICTORY IN ONEONTA

ONEONTA, N.Y. – After 15 years, the Colgate University men's soccer team got a victory against Hartwick College Wednesday afternoon.

The Red Raiders (4-8-1) got their goal about five minutes into the second half and the score stood up as Colgate took a 1-0 victory against Hartwick at Elmore Field.

Hartwick had a 14-0-1 unbeaten streak over Colgate with the last Red Raider victory coming in 1984.  The Hawks now hold a 32-5-1 lead in the series.

Senior forward Brendan Skonieczki scored at the 50:17 mark off assists from Marc Hubbard and Josh Viel.  Skonieczki increased his season marker total to nine.

Hartwick had a 16-3 shot advantage and a 5-0 margin in corner kicks, but goalkeeper Jon Brunell stood tall recording five saves to preserve the shutout.

The Hawks (6-6-1) had a number of chances, but they were shutout for the fifth time this season.
