ASSISTANT COACH MIKE BORSZ
Mike Borsz returned to his Patriot League roots when he joined the staff of the Colgate men's lacrosse team as an assistant coach in the fall of 2004. After graduating from Hobart College in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in sociology, Borsz moved to the United Kingdom where he worked with the Hitchin Lacrosse Development Program. He coached both the Hitchin and Welwyn men's lacrosse clubs, in addition to assiting with the Wales men's international lacrosse team. Borsz also coached the South of England under-16 team. During the summer of 2003, Borsz worked with the West Genesee High School team as part of its summer training. He assisted with the varsity team's defense, and trained the varsity goalkeepers. Borsz was the starting goaltender for the Hobart men's lacrosse team for three years. He earned All-Patriot League Second Team honors in 2002 and 2003, and played in the 2003 North-South All-Star Classic. In 2002, Borsz helped Hobart to a share of the Patriot League regular-season title and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. As a senior, he boasted a .567 save percentage and 10.46 saves per game overall. In Patriot League contests, Borsz led the league with a 6.46 goals against average and a .671 save percentage. Borsz's 473 career saves rank eighth in league history and fourth all-time at Hobart. Borsz worked as an intern at the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce during the spring semester of his senior year. He has also worked summer jobs with the Town of Camillus Parks and Recreation department, and worked as an instructor at two Hobart lacrosse camps. |
