Jim Nagle Named
Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate men’s lacrosse coach Jim Nagle was selected as Patriot League Coach of the Year while freshman goalie Andrew Jarolimek (Silverthorne, Colo.) was named Co-Rookie of the Year as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. Nagle, in his second season with the Raiders, guided Colgate to its first ever four-win conference season, posting a 4-2 mark in the league while securing an overall record of 8-7, Colgate’s best finish since the 1997 squad went 8-7. Nagle is the first Raider lacrosse coach to win the award since Dan Whelan won it in 1997. Jarolimek, who was named the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week twice and Defensive Player of the Week once, tied with Army’s John Walker for the Rookie of the Year Award while also being named second team all-league. Jarolimek ranked second in the conference and 13th in the nation with a .603 save percentage and second in the league and 10th in the nation with a 7.49 goals against average. He is the first Raider to win the award since Parker Gibson won it in 1998. Senior midfielder Nick Gerken (Wilton, Conn.) and junior defenseman Andrew Houston (Short Hills, N.J.) garnered first team all-league honors while sophomore attackman Jason Vasas (Fairport, N.Y.) joined Jarolimek on the second team. |
