RAIDERS
FALL TO HARVARD, 7-6 IN DOUBLE OVERTIME April 30, 2002 CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Harvard junior Doug Logigian scored his only goal of the night after 14 unsuccessful attempts to pull out a non-league victory for the Crimson over Colgate in men's lacrosse action Tuesday. After an early Harvard goal by Matt Primm in the first, the Raiders rallied to hold a lead through the majority of the game on goals by Chris Michaels (Pennington, N.J.), Scott Herbst (Short Hills, N.J.), Jeff Vander Meulen (Liverpool, N.Y.), Joe Parker (Crofton, Md.) and Matt Saxon (Bethesda, Md.). Colgate was holding onto a 5-3 advantage going into the fourth period of play but Harvard tallied three goals to the Raiders one to tie up the game. Parker scored Colgate's final goal of the game in the fourth period of play. Both teams had opportunities to take the lead in the closing seconds of regulation but were denied by the clutch play of goal keepers Jake McKenna and Raider Chris Hettler (Liverpool, N.Y.). McKenna finished with 18 saves while Hettler tallied 17. Neither team could earn a goal in the first overtime period and headed into the second extra stanza where Logigian scored his goal with 1:04 left to play. The Colgate men's lacrosse team finishes
the 2002 campaign with a 7-7 record overall and a 3-3 record in Patriot
League play.
