COLGATE
FALLS TO 18TH-RANKED BUCKNELL, 13-4
Lewisburg, Pa.-- The
18th-ranked Bucknell men's lacrosse team used
five-goal second and fourth quarters to defeat
Colgate 13-4 in Patriot League action Friday
night.
Michael Chang scored four goals
on the night including one in the second and
fourth helping to spark the Bison run.
The two teams played evenly in
the first quarter with Bucknell taking its first
lead of the game 2-1 with a goal by Alex Gibson
at the 1:00 mark.
However, after the even start it
was all Bison in the second blanking Colgate 5-0
to take a 7-1 halftime advantage. Five different
Bison recorded markers in the 5-0 run.
Colgate came out strong in the
second half with a man-up goal at 14:46 by David
Dobbin, but that was as close as the Red Raiders
would get on the evening after Chang responded
with his third goal of the game at 2:50 of the
third. Colgate's Danny Grady cut the lead to 8-3
off an assist from Dobbins with just six seconds
remaining in the third.
But once again, the Bucknell
offense responded scoring three goals in the
first three minutes of the fourth to take a
commanding 11-3 lead. Danny Grady registered his
second goal of the game scoring the final Colgate
marker at 11:25 of the fourth.
The loss dropped Colgate's
overall mark to 4-8 and 3-2 in the Patriot
League, while Bucknell improved to 6-3 and 3-1.
