MIGHTY DUCKS OF ANAHEIM AGREE TO TERMS
WITH HOBEY BAKER FINALIST ANDY MCDONALD

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that the National Hockey League club has agreed to terms with free agent center Andy McDonald of Colgate University.

McDonald, 22 (8/25/77), just completed his senior season at Colgate University, scoring 25-33-58 in 34 games. He was named a Hobey Baker Award Finalist on March 16, awarded to the top U.S. Collegiate Player (announed April 7). The 5-10, 185-pound center was also named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was selected to the All-ECAC First Team. He led Colgate to a 24-9-2 record last season, including a 14-4-2 mark in the ECAC (second in the league).

A native of Strathroy, Ontario, McDonald led the ECAC in points, goals and assists (16-20-36) and currently has the second highest points per game average in the nation (1.71).

Over his four-year collegiate career, McDonald totalled 67 goals and 88 helpers for 155 points in 137 games. He scored 19 points (9-10-19) as a freshman and increased his point total every season, scoring 32 points as a sophomore (13-19-22) and 46 points as a junior (20-26-46).
