Rensselaer
Downs Colgate 3-1 in ECAC Semifinals
Engineers Advance
to Championship Game
Lake Placid, N.Y. -- An
unassisted goal by Chad MacDonald at the 17:15
mark of thefirst period gave Colgate a 1-0 lead
after twenty minutes of play in the first ECAC
Semifinal.
In the second period, a Keith
Dupee power-play goal at 6:47 followed by a Nolan
Graham tally at 8:37 gave Rensselaer a 2-1 lead
at the second intermission.
A late goal by Keith Dupee at 18:53 of the third
made it a 3-1 final in favor of Rensselaer.
Colgate's Shep Harder has 38
saves in the contest while Joel Laing stopped 19
shots in the Rensselaer net.
Top-seeded St. Lawrence plays
Cornell in the second Semifinal. Colgate will
play in the ECAC Consolation Game at 4:00 on
Saturday while the Rensselaer will battle for the
Championship at 7:00.
