HOCKEY LEGEND RAY BOURQUE TO SPEAK AT COLGATE'S SILVER PUCK DINNER
SATURDAY NIGHT
HAMILTON,
N.Y. - Colgate University
men's hockey head coach Don Vaughan has announced that hockey legend Ray
Bourque will serve as the guest speaker at the Silver Puck Dinner Saturday
night at the Colgate Inn following the game against Yale.
"We are obviously
thrilled and excited to have Ray Bourque as our guest speaker for Silver
Puck," said Vaughan. "He
is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game. In my opinion
Ray Bourque represents all that is great about the game of hockey. I am
certain that this future NHL Hall Of Fame player will have a very
inspiring message for our student athletes. I want to thank Jack McGlynn
'69 for all of his help in convincing Ray to join us for the weekend."
A 12-time NHL All-Star, Bourque was a member of the
2001 Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche. Bourque also won the NHL's
Norris Trophy, awarded to the league's top defenseman, five times
(1987-88, 1990-91, 94) while with the Boston Bruins and was named the 1996
All-Star Game MVP. The all-time leader for points and assists by a
defenseman finished his career with 1,579 points, 1,169 assists and 1,612
games played.
Silver Puck Weekend will honor the teams of the '80s with games against
Princeton on Friday night at 7 p.m. and Yale on Saturday at 4 p.m.
