FOUR RAIDERS NAMED TO THE ECAC'S ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM Senior captain Steve Silversides was honored for the third consecutive year. March 23, 2003 ALBANY, N.Y. -- Four Colgate University men's ice hockey players have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference's 2003 all-Academic Team. Senior captain Steve Silversides (Thunder Bay, Ont.), and sophomores Justin Spencer (Tweed, Ont.), Dave Thomas (East Petersburg, Pa.) and Dmitry Yashin (Kanata, Ont.) were among 69 student-athletes named to the team. Silversides, an International Relations major, is one of 14 players in the league to be recognized three times. Players are eligible for the all-Academic team if they have completed at least one academic year, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and have competed in at least one-half of his team's games during the current season (goaltenders must have played in at least 33 percent of the team's minutes.
