HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) - Senior captain Matt Murley recorded a goal and an assist to lead Rensselaer past Colgate2-1 Friday night at Starr Rink.

Murley assisted on the game winning goal with Hamish Cunning at 5:20 in the second period, passing to Nolan Graham, who lit the lamp making it 2-1.

The Engineers (2-3, 1-0 ECAC) opened up the scoring at 1:09 in the first when Murley took a pass from junior Marc Cavosie and beat Colgate senior goaltender Jason Lefevre glove-side on the power play to give the Engineers an early 1-0 advantage.

Colgate (1-5, 0-1 ECAC) evened the score 1-1 at 0:19 in the second period when senior Etienne Morin took a pass directly in from of the crease from sophomore Kyle Doyle to beat Rensselaer goalie Nathan Marsters.

The two teams skated to a scoreless third period on the heels of Marsters' 12 saves. Marsters recorded 28 saves on the night whileLefevre stopped 18 for the Raiders.
