DOWNS IONA, 4-1 Nov. 3, 2001 HAMILTON, N.Y (AP) - The Colgate men's hockey team used four third period goals and a two point performance by Scooter Smith to claim its first victory of the season with a 4-1 win over Iona on Saturday night at Starr Rink. The Raiders (1-4) handed the Gaels (4-1-1) their first loss of the season and in the process gave Colgate head coach Don Vaughan his 150th career victory. Paul Kelley recorded his first collegiate goal at 17:25 in the third period, giving the Raiders the 4-1 advantage. Two minutes earlier, Smith took a pass from P.J. Yedon directly in front of the crease and beat Iona goaltender Scott Galenza glove-side at 15:33 to extend the Raider lead 3-1.
