MORIN NAMED CAPTAIN OF COLGATE MEN'S HOCKEY
TEAM BRYCE AND SILVERSIDES SELECTED AS ASSISTANT CAPTAINS Oct. 11, 2001 HAMILTON, N.Y.--Head coach Don Vaughan has announced that senior Etienne Morin (Levis, Que.) has been named the captain of the 2001-02 Colgate men's hockey team, while senior Ben Bryce (Bluepoint, Ont.) and junior Steve Silversides (Thunder Bay, Ont.) have been selected as assistant captains. Morin, a right wing, has not missed a contest in three seasons and now has 104 career games. Last season, he finished with nine goals and seven assists including a two-goal game in the 5-4 loss to Ferris State on November 3. He has totaled 26 goals and 25 assists for 51 career points in three seasons for the Raiders. Bryce, a defenseman, appeared in 32 games last season. He registered a goal and seven assists and a plus/minus rating of +2. He was also named to the ECAC all-academic team for the second straight year. Silversides, also a defenseman, played in 32 games last season with three assists. He assisted on P.J. Yedon's game-winning goal in a 4-1 victory over Union on March 2. Colgate opens its season on Friday, Oct. 19 when Nebraska-Omaha comes into town for a 7 p.m. game. |
