STAN MOORE PROMOTED TO
ASSOCIATE HEAD MEN'S ICE HOCKEY COACH
August 6, 2001 Hamilton, N.Y. -- Colgate University Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach Don Vaughan announced today that long-time assistant Stan Moore has been promoted to associate head coach. "This is something Stan definitely deserves," Vaughan said. "He's been with us for a long time as an assistant, and he's also been the head coach at Union. He's a big part of Colgate, and the ECAC as a whole. With his talent and experience, this title and promotion is long overdue." Moore, who is entering his eighth season with the Raiders, spent two years as the head hockey coach at Union. In 1996-97, after an 18-win season and a fifth place league finish, Moore became the first ECAC rookie coach to be named Coach of the Year. Moore's main coaching responsibility at Colgate is with the defensemen, and he has been instrumental in the Raiders' recruiting efforts throughout his tenure. |
