COLGATE'S BROWN NAMED ECAC ALL-CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION

LAKE PLACID, N.Y.--Sophomore defenseman Rob Brown (Brockville, Ont.) of the Colgate men’s hockey team was named an ECAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Thursday. 

Brown finished the 2001-02 season tied for second on the team in scoring and first among defensemen with nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points. He recorded two power play goals and two game winners. 

This season, Brown played a major role on Colgate’s blueline, logging over 30 minutes a game and played in all situations for the Raiders. He recorded a career-high three points on two goals and an assist in the 7-2 win over Canisius February 5 and scored game winning goals in the 2-1 win over Brown February 1 as well as the 2-1 win over Union November 10. 

Colgate finished the season with a 13-19-2 overall mark and was 10-10-2 in league play. The Raiders were eliminated from the first round of the ECAC Playoffs after falling to Dartmouth 5-4 in double overtime March 8 and losing 4-1 March 9.
