DOYLE'S HAT TRICK LEADS COLGATE PAST HARVARD, 5-3

HAMILTON, N.Y.--Sophomore Kyle Doyle tallied a hat trick to lead Colgate past Harvard 5-3 Saturday afternoon at Starr Rink. 

        The Raiders completed a weekend sweep, picking up four points in the conference and jump to 9-13-1 overall and 7-6-1 in the ECAC, while Harvard falls to 9-8-3 overall and 8-5-2 in the conference. 

        Doyle picked up his third goal of the game at 4:39 in the third period when he rebounded a Rob Brown shot and beat Crimson goalie Will Crothers to put Colgate ahead 5-2. 

        Harvard pulled within 5-3 at 18:53 in the third on Tyler Kolarik's unassisted goal, but it proved to be too little too late. 

        Dmitry Yashin scored the second of his two goals at 6:32 in the second period when he rebounded an Etienne Morin shot in front of the crease and jammed it into the back of the net to extend the Colgate lead to 4-2.

        Colgate took the lead for good at 4:35 when Doyle took a pass from Ben Bryce, who screened the defender, and ripped a slap-shot past Crothers' stick-side to put the Raiders ahead 3-2. 

        Peter Capouch tied the game at 2-2 when he beat Colgate goaltender David Cann with a slap-shot on his stick side at 1:33 in the second period. 

        Doyle's first goal of the contest at 19:12 in the first put the Raiders ahead 2-1, seventeen minutes after Yashin's first goal evened the score at one. 

        Liam McCarthy got Harvard on the board first at 2:02 in the opening period when he ripped a slap shot past Cann from the top of the circle.  Cann stopped 13 shots for Colgate while Crothers had 16 saves for Harvard.
