COLGATE CREW RESULTS FROM STONEHURST
CAPITAL INVITATIONAL REGATTA Oct. 14, 2002 ROCHESTER, N.Y.--The Colgate University men's and women's Varsity 8 boats competed at the Stonehurst Capital Invitational Regatta Sunday. The women's Varsity 8 placed eighth out of 22 teams in the college division at the Stonehurst Capital Invitational Regatta Sunday with a time of 34:37.26. The Raiders finished 11th overall out of 26 teams. Rochester Institute of Technology won the college division with a time of 33:24.29 while Williams placed second with a time of 33:24.75. Buffalo was third at 33:36.67 while Ithaca finished fourth at 33:37.66. Smith was fifth at 34:00.58, William Smith sixth at 34:12.23, Queens seventh at 34:26.36, Buffalo 'B' ninth at 34:46.62 and Williams 'B' at 34:51.30. Colgate 'B' team was 19th with a time of 37:05.70. Overall, Harvard won the event with a winning time of 31:55.29 while Syracuse took second with a time of 32:18.17. RIT, who won the college division, took third. On the men's side, Colgate finished fifth out of 13 teams in the college division and 12th out of 25 teams overall. The Raiders posted a time of 30:23.53. Hobart won the college division with a time of 29:26.69. Toronto took second with a time of 29:35.54 while RIT came in third at 29:48.64. Ithaca placed fourth (30:09.02), Queens sixth (30:24.77) Williams seventh (30:42.70), Hobart 'B' eighth (30:52.17) RIT 'B' ninth (30:59.28) and the University of Rochester 10th (31:21.07). Harvard came in first overall with a time of 28:05.02 while Brown was second and Dartmouth third with times of 28:20.71 and 28:29.49 respectively. The Raiders are back in action at the Head of the Charles in Boston, Mass. on Sunday, October 20.
