COLGATE MEN'S CREW FINISHES SECOND AT SAN DIEGO CREW CLASSIC 

HAMILTON, N.Y.--The Colgate University men's crew Varsity 8 placed second  in the Cal Cup finals with a time of 6:03.30 at the San Diego Crew Classic in San Diego, Calif. Sunday afternoon.

Orange Coast won the event with a time of 5:59.54. UMass Amherst finished third with a time of 6:03.85 while West Washington came in fourth at 6:07.06. Gonzaga was fifth at 6:17.90 and University of California San Diego recorded a time of 6:25.89 to round out the field.

Colgate qualified for the finals by finishing second in its heat on Saturday morning with a time of 6:08.06, the second fastest time of all three heats. Orange Coast recorded the fastest time at 6:07.7.

The Raiders return home to race against Ithaca and Rochester in Ithaca, N.Y. on Sat., April 13.
