LINEBAUGH LEADS
COLGATE TO EXHIBITION WIN OVER SYRACUSE AAU
HAMILTON, N.Y.— Sophomore Mark Linebaugh scored a game-high 31 points to lead Colgate to a 106-95 win over Mickey Walker’s Syracuse AAU team Monday night in an exhibition game at Cotterell Court Linebaugh connected on 12 of 18 from the field including four 3-pointers to lead four Colgate players in double figures. Also in double digits for the Raiders were Howard Blue with 19, Matt Shirley 13, Keith Williams 11, and Dave Hardy 10. The Raiders took an early 22-13 lead en route to a 49-37 halftime advantage with Linebaugh leading the way with 20 first half points. The closest Syracuse would come in the second half was five points with 45 seconds left in the game. Syracuse AAU was led by former Syracuse star Lawrence Moten with 26 points and Trevor Ruffin with 19. The Raiders out-rebounded Syracuse AAU, 54-37, with Blue the top rebounder with a game-high nine. Colgate will open its regular season this Friday in the Pepsi-Marist Classic when it takes on host school Marist College. |
