COLGATE TO MEET LAFAYETTE IN PATRIOT LEAGUE TV GAME OF THE WEEK

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Colgate Raiders (9-11, PL 4-3) begin the second half of their Patriot League schedule on Friday night, when they travel to Lafayette College (9-11, PL 3-4).  Tip-off is 9 p.m. at the Kirby Sports Center.

The game will be televised on DIRECTV (Channel 611) as part of the Patriot League Game of the Week package.  The satellite coordinates are Satellite SBS 6, Transponder 16 – KU Band.

Colgate comes into the contest with four victories in its first seven league games including a 77-68 decision over Lehigh last Sunday.  Lehigh came into the contest tied with Holy Cross for first place in the Patriot League standings.

This is the 68^th time Colgate and Lafayette have played on the hardwood with the Raiders holding a slim 37-30 lead in the series.  Earlier this season, Colgate edged Lafayette in Hamilton 66-64 to extend its regular season win streak over the Leopards to five straight.  The Raiders have won the last two meetings at the Kirby Sports Center.

In the first meeting this season, junior Howard Blue scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Colgate effort against the Leopards.  It was Blue’s second double-double of the season.  Andrew Zidar added 14 points, while Mark Linebaugh tallied 13.

Blue continues as Colgate’s leading scorer and rebounder with 12.4 and 6.7, respectively.  Also averaging in double figures for the Raiders is Linebaugh with 10.8 points per game, and a streak of five straight games in double figures.
