COLGATE TO ENTERTAIN LEAGUE-LEADER HOLY CROSS WEDNESDAY NIGHT HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Colgate Raiders (9-12, PL 4-4) will attempt to break out of a three-way tie for fourth place in the Patriot League standings Wednesday night, when they play host to league-leader Holy Cross (17-4, PL 7-1). Tip-off is 7:00 p.m. at Cotterell Court. The Raiders have a tough assignment against the Crusaders, who defeated Colgate earlier this season, 86-43. Holy Cross comes into the contest riding a three-game winning streak with victories over Lehigh, Bucknell and Army, and has won 11 of its last 12 games. Colgate has split its last eight games but is 3-1 on its home court against Patriot League teams. This is the 53rd meeting between Colgate and Holy Cross with the Crusaders holding a decisive edge 39-13. Two Colgate players are approaching personal milestones. Junior Howard Blue comes into the Holy Cross contest needing three points to reach 800 points in his career and Mark Linebaugh needs 21 points to reach 900 points in his career. With five points, Linebaugh will move into 25th place in the school’s all-time scoring list. |
