Student-Athletes For Men's Basketball HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate University head basketball coach Emmett Davis has announced the signing of five student-athletes for the men’s basketball program. Joining the Raiders are 6-3 guard Daniel Green (Poly Prep HS) from Brooklyn, N.Y.; 6-1 guard Alvin Reed (Lawrence Academy) from San Bernardino, Calif.; 6-9 forward/center Drew Whitaker (Lake Highland Prep) from Orlando, Fla.; 6-9 center Marc Daniels (Waubonsie Valley HS) from Aurora, Ill.; and 6-7 forward Jon Foss (Princeton HS) from Princeton, Ill. “We are very excited about this year’s recruiting class,” Davis stated. “With four players graduating from this past season’s 17-11 team and six rising seniors on next year’s team about to graduate, we felt we needed to bring in a sizable and talented group. Whitaker comes from a program that won 44 games in his final two seasons. Daniels was instrumental in helping Waubonsie Valley set a school record for wins in a season with a 28-2 record. Along the way, his high school team won a regional championship and advanced to the Sectional final in the Illinois State Tournament. He was selected honorable mention all-Up State 8 Conference and was an all-area selection by the Naperville Sun News. Daniels averaged 10 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per contest.
