Colgate Travels to
University of New Hampshire for First Meeting Since the 1989-90 Campaign
(Complete Release in PDF Format) DURHAM, N.H.. – Colgate plays its final non-conference game before the start of the Patriot League season on Saturday, when the Raiders (8-3) travel to the University of New Hampshire. Tip-off is 1:00 p.m. at Lundholm Gymnasium. The Raiders, who are enjoying their finest start since the 1971-72 season, have won six of its last seven games including a 102-71 decision over Bethany College in their last outing. Sophomore Howard Blue scored 20 points to lead Colgate over the Bison, while Pat Campolieta chipped in 17 points and Mark Linebaugh and Tim Sullivan added 15 apiece. Sullivan reached the 500-point mark in his collegiate career. Colgate tallied a season-high 10 3-pointers against Bethany making 10-of-16 from behind the arc. Campolieta continues to lead the Raiders in scoring with 15.5 points per game and rebounding with 6.9 caroms per outing. The second leading scorer in the Patriot League needs 31 points for 7th place on the school’s all-time scoring list. He has 1,374 points in 96 games. Linebaugh and Blue are tied for second in scoring with 12.3 points per game followed by Sullivan with 10.4 points per contest. New Hampshire (1-10) has dropped four straight games including a 70-65 decision against Boston University on Wednesday night. The Wildcats’ only victory came at the expense of New England College, 96-51. Following the New Hampshire game, the Raiders return home to open their Patriot League campaign on Wednesday, Jan. 9 against the league’s newest member, American University. |
