HAMILTON, N.Y. – Kodiak Yazzie’s jumper at the buzzer lifted Northern Arizona to a 78-77 double overtime victory over Colgate Wednesday night in a non-conference game at Cotterell Court.

            Colgate (1-1) had taken a 77-76 lead with 2.8 seconds remaining on Mark Linebaugh’s layup.  But after a timeout, Northern Arizona (2-1) threw the ball the length of the floor where Yazzie picked up the loose ball and fired home the game-winner from 15-feet.

            Brian McHugh with 25 points and Ryan McDade with 24 and 10 rebounds paced the Lumberjacks.  Yazzie finished with 11 points.

            Dave Hardy and Mark Linebaugh led Colgate with 19 apiece, while Pat Campolieta added 12 and Howard Blue 11.

            The Raiders sent the game into overtime on Hardy’s two free throws with 4.4 seconds left in regulation, and extended the contest to a second overtime, when Linebaugh nailed a three-pointer with 8.3 seconds left in the first overtime.
