HAMILTON, N.Y.  -  Freshman Mark Linebaugh’s 3-point basket at the buzzer lifted Colgate to a come-from-behind 56-54 win over Binghamton Saturday at Cotterell Court.

Colgate (3-3) wins its second straight game while Binghamton falls to 2-3.

The Red Raiders trailed 54-53 with seven seconds left but Linebaugh bounced the ball out of bounds for a turnover.  On the ensuing inbounds pass, Colgate’s Marques Green fouled Joost Ooms sending him to the line for two free throws with six seconds remaining.  He missed both shots with the second miss rebounded by Howard Blue, who fired a pass to Linebaugh.  Linebaugh dribbled over mid-court and let a long jumper go for the winning basket.

Pat Campolieta led Colgate with his sixth career double-double scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.  Dave Hardy finished with nine points and Linebaugh and Blue added eight apiece.

Mike Wright paced Binghamton with 13 points and Andre Hankey with 10, while Ooms finished with 10 rebounds.
