NAVY RALLIES FOR AN 83-80 OVERTIME VICTORY AGAINST COLGATE

                HAMILTON, N.Y. – Chris Williams scored a game-high 24 points, including Navy’s last three points in overtime, to lift the Midshipmen to an 83-80 win over Colgate Wednesday night at Cotterell Court.

                Navy (16-11, PL 8-3) wins for the 10th straight time over the Red Raiders, and clinches the number two seed in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament.  Colgate (12-14, 5-6) drops its third straight game while remains in fourth place with one game left in the regular season. 

Also in double figures for Navy were Jehiel Lewis with 19 points, Jason Jeanpierre with 17 and Francis Ebong with 10.

                Pat Campolieta led Colgate with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Tim Sullivan added 16, Mark Linebaugh 15 and Dave Hardy 14.  It was Campolieta’s third double-double of the season.

                In regulation, Hardy gave Colgate a 70-67 lead with 13 seconds left on a 3-pointer, but Navy came down the court, and with two seconds left, Lewis nailed a 3-pointer from the corner to send the game into overtime.

                In the overtime period, Colgate held a 76-75 lead with 2:16 remaining on Hardy’s basket before Francis Ebong put the Mids ahead for good on a basket with 2:00 left.

                Colgate led at the half, 44-42.  The biggest lead by either team was a nine-point advantage by Colgate early in the first half.

                Hardy finished with three assists to give him 101 for the season.  He is the 10th player in school history to reach the century mark for assists in a season.
