COLGATE ROLLS OVER LAFAYETTE 79-66

                HAMILTON, N.Y. – Pat Campolieta and Martin Marek scored 16 points apiece to lead Colgate to a 79-66 Patriot League win over Lafayette Wednesday at Cotterell Court.

                Colgate (10-10 overall, 4-2 Patriot League) snaps a three-game losing streak to the Leopards and improves its home record to 8-1.  The Red Raiders are in sole possession of third place in the Patriot League, one game behind Holy Cross and Navy.  Lafayette is 7-12 overall and 1-5 in the league.

                Also in double figures for the Red Raiders were Tim Sullivan and Howard Blue with 11 points each and Dave Hardy with 10.  Campolieta also had a game-high nine rebounds as Colgate controlled the boards, 38-36.

                Tyson Whitfield with 16 points and Frank Barr with 12 paced Lafayette.

                With the visitors leading, 9-8, with 15:33 left in the first half, the Red Raiders ran off 11 straight points for a 19-9 advantage with 11:19 remaining.  Freshman Mark Linebaugh led the run with five points and Hardy added four points.  Colgate held a 37-21 halftime lead.

                In the second half, Colgate opened with a 12-1 surge for a 27-point lead, 49-22.  The closest Lafayette came after that was the final 13-point deficit after both teams emptied the bench for the final two minutes.
