BLUE NAMED PATRIOT LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK

BETHLEHEM, PA. - Colgate University’s Howard Blue (Washington, D.C.) has been picked as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week in men’s basketball for the second straight week and third time this season.

Blue had back-to-back double-doubles last week as Colgate split a pair of games, losing to Dartmouth before defeating Patriot League opponent Lehigh. Against the Big Green, Blue totaled 19 points, 11 rebounds, followed by an 18-point, 11 rebound effort against Lehigh. For the week, Blue hit 52.2 percent from the field, 76.5 percent from the charity stripe while averaging 18.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.

Blue, who is the Patriot League’s top scoring freshman, is currently averaging 10.8 points per game (12th overall in the league) and 6.2 rebounds per game (4th in the league). He also ranks 11th in the league in free throw percentage (.775).
