COLGATE RALLIES FOR PATRIOT LEAGUE WIN OVER LEHIGH 86-79

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Dave Hardy scored a career-high 23 points and Howard Blue added his second straight double-double to lead Colgate to an 86-79 win over Lehigh Saturday afternoon in a Patriot League game.

Colgate (8-9 overall, 2-1 Patriot League) wins its sixth straight game over the Mountain Hawks and captured its first victory this season while trailing at halftime.  Lehigh is 8-9, 2-2.

Blue finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Red Raiders, while Pat Campolieta scored 18.  Lehigh was paced by Matt Logie with 18, while Sah-U-Ra Brown had 15, Alex Jensen 14 and Alan Goff 10.

Colgate led the entire first half until Bobby Willis made two free throws with 19 seconds left to give Lehigh a 36-35 lead at the half. 

In the second half, Lehigh held a 47-46 lead with 15:41 remaining before Colgate went on a 13-2 run for a 10-point lead, 59-49, with 11:10 remaining.  Hardy scored five points in the run, while Campolieta added four.

Colgate increased its lead to 15 points before Lehigh cut the deficit to four points, 80-76, with 45 seconds left.  A layup by Bill Kern and two free throws by Mark Linebaugh iced the game for the Red Raiders.

The Red Raiders shot 52 percent from the field and made 26-of-30 free throws.
