COLGATE GOLF ENDS SEASON
WITH A FOURTH PLACE FINISH IN PL CHAMPIONSHIP April 21, 2002 WEST POINT, N.Y.-The Colgate golf team ended its season with a fourth place finish in an eight-team field in the Patriot League Golf Championship at West Point Golf Course Sunday. The Raiders fired a combined score of 896 in the two-day event. Army won the event with a team score of 847 and Scott Manley earned medalist honors in a playoff with Kevin Lee of Army and Billy Hurley of Navy. All three players shot a three round total of 209. Navy came in second with a team score of 876 while Lehigh placed third with a two-day total of 878. Bucknell came in fifth with a 907 while American (908), Holy Cross (938) and Lafayette (974) round out the field. The Raiders placed three golfers in the top-20 including junior Jesse Smith (Northfield, Mass.) who fired a 211 for fourth place. Senior captain Dan Cappucci (Lincoln, Mass.) came in 18th with a 228 while teammate Ben Selberg (Englewood, Colo.) tied for 19th with a 229. Sophomore Sean Cusick (Westwood, Mass.) fired a 230 while classmate Josh Polsinelli (Kansas City, Mo.) had a 241 for a 34th. Sophomore Will Lewis (Williamsville, N.Y.) tied for 46th with a 254.
