GUILFORD COLLEGE (NC) WINS WILLIAMS INVITATIONAL BY NINE
STROKES; EPHS FINISH 4TH
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- Guilford College maintained its nine
stroke lead from Saturday to win by that same margin today at
the Williams Invitational at the Taconic Golf Club.
Guilford's two-day score of 594 was well ahead of its
closest competitors Colgate (603), Babson (605), and Williams
(606).
The top score of the day was turned in by Guilford's Savio
Nazareth (3-under 68) and Colgate's Eli Zackheim shot a
2-under 69. Yesterday, not one player shot below par.
Zackheim and Nazareth both shot 141 for the tournament,
which was four strokes better than the next best score, a 145
turned in by Babson's Jared Myers.
On the day, Williams was led by sophomores Will Sicks
(1-over 72) and Max Monteglas (2-over 73). Both players shot a
two-day total of 146 which was good for a tie for fourth
overall.
