RILEY NAMED TO TWO
PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA TEAMS HAMILTON, N.Y. - Colgate University’s Ameer Riley, one of the premier defensive backs in the nation, has been named to two preseason All-America teams. The senior free safety was chosen first team by Lindy’s and second team by The Sports Network. Lindy’s also tabbed him as the preseason Defensive Player of the Year in the Patriot League. Riley, who was a first team all-Patriot League performer last season, brings 22 games of starting experience to the Raider lineup. He has earned three varsity letters while establishing himself as one of the most feared hitters in Division I-AA. Last season, Riley was tied for the interception lead in the Patriot League with four, and finished as Colgate’s fourth leading tackler with 47. He also had one quarterback sack, four pass breakups and one fumble forced. Riley is also a standout return specialist for the Raiders handling the punt and kickoff return duties.
