BIDDLE NAMED TO VERIZON ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT I UNIVERSITY TEAM

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate University punter Brendon Biddle has been named to the 2000 Verizon Academic All-District I University Division football team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Biddle along with 22 other district winners will advance to the national Academic All-America ballot. Results of the national voting will be announced Dec. 5, 2000.

To be nominated for the Verizon Academic All-America team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore starter or significant reserve on his team with a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.

Biddle has handled all of Colgate’s punting duties this fall averaging 38.2 yards per punt - fourth best in the Patriot League. He has punted 43 times with nine touchbacks and six inside the 20. He had a career-long 63-yarder against St. Mary’s.

Biddle carries a 3.52 grade point average while majoring in economics.
