HAMILTON, N.Y.  – Heather Yanusas scored a goal and assisted on two others to lift the College of the Holy Cross field hockey team to a 3-1 win over Colgate University Saturday at Tyler's Field. 

With the loss Colgate drops to 3-4 overall and 2-2  in the Patriot League while Holy Cross improves to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Liz Tutella got the Crusaders on the board at 23:04 when she put in a rebound off of a Yanusas shot. Holy Cross took a 2-0 lead at 31:47 when Yanusas scored an unassisted goal. The Crusaders went up 3-0 at 36:54 as Yanusas crossed the ball to Jenna Cook for the goal.

The Raiders closed out the scoring 3-1 at 67:55 as junior defender Kristen Merkle (Woodstown, N.J.) scored her first collegiate goal. Sophomore Courtney Collins (Yorktown, N.Y.) assisted on the goal.

Senior goalie Sara Corcoran (Orange, Conn.) finished with 12 saves while Holy Cross goalkeeper Jennifer Corsilli had three saves.

The Raiders host Cornell on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. on Tyler's Field.
